Jenna Fischer was best known for her portrayal of Pam Beesly (the character of The Office) on television. Her role on The Office earned her an Emmy nomination for Most Outstanding Supporting Actress category. She also won two SAG Awards, both for extraordinary performances on an ensemble cast in a comedy.
Her birthplace was Fort Wayne, Indiana, but was raised mostly in St. Louis, Missouri. Jenna was awed by her mother, Anne, perform in the church when she was young, which instilled a love of theater and performance.
Fischer is an actress with the theater background. The Off-Broadway production of Reasons to be Happy was directed and written by Neil LaBute, with Josh Hamilton, Leslie Bibb and Fred Weller. Then she starred in Steve Martin's Meteor Shower - an absurdist production starring Greg Germann and Josh Stamberg - for the Old Globe Theatre's first world premiere.
The Office's Angela Kinsey (the cast mate of Fischer) as well as her real life best friend Angela Kinsey, who is from The Office, started a podcast in the month of October. It was titled Office Ladies. The show is now extremely well-known and is now in the Top Ten every single week. In its debut year, the show received more than 200,000,000 downloads. In January 2021, Office Ladies won iHeart Radio's Podcast of the Year award.
