April Lockhart was born on July 4 1995 In seventh grade she began playing guitar and piano classes which sparked her love for songwriting. April's first song was Different which she composed at the age of 12. She spent a lot of time at 14 writing songs and practicing music. The songwriting began with her dad on the streets of NY and LA within a short time. April began to include various other topics relevant to the"Take my Hand song for some friends, such as peer-pressure impairments and even suicide among teenagers. Lockhart has her own following and works as a lifestyle blogger under the renowned Ilia clean beauty brand. She was born without her left hand. It's an aspect of her identity, but that's not the entire story. Lockhart doesn't deny her disability through her Instagram page, but she doesn't place it in the spotlight of the account.
